The arms naturally lengthen during pregnancy so one can reach in and remove the child during the birthing

That episode was amazing! Great reference.

For those out of the loop. This is a reference (I believe) one of the new doctor who specials with David Tennant and Catherine Tate.

that whole episode was just creepy.

[–] YaxPasaj@lemmy.eco.br 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, it's an amazing special episode. Loved the tension on this one.

It's the knees, how many knees?

Now the baby can walk with its exoskeleton.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago

There's a whole lot wrong with this page.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

Ah yes, the famous 10 week period to let the baby rest and finish cooking before mom pushes the freeloader out

[–] hemmes@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Is this...not...how it is?

[–] jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works 33 points 1 year ago (4 children)

No. The baby is usually facing down and is much smaller than that. Also, most women don't have elastigirl arms.

When I was a kid, my mom was usually pretty laid back. But, if we were being smart asses, I'm pretty sure she could have reached us from halfway across the room.

Most babies turn head down in the last few weeks- a typical pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. At 30 weeks like in the picture the baby would probably still be in a head up position.

So the prangent sex is not dangerops then? It won't hurt baby top of his head?

[–] hemmes@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Yes, but this clearly depicts the baby straight up chillin' waiting for somebody to load up his right arm with a beer. So...

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What is the name of the book?

[–] Creazle@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

The story of life by Chris (Simpsons artist)

[–] OrderedChaos@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If the baby's legs go through her legs shouldn't the baby's arms go through the arms? With all that practice following along with mom babies should be able to walk immediately after birth like the rest of the natural world.

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Assuming babies are natural

The Simpsons have come a long way.

[–] RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I hate this.

[–] Lev_Astov@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I didn't know Chris (Simpsons artist) had a book and now I need it.

[–] magnetosphere@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

“So… if I give my kid this book, it explains all the awkward stuff, and I can avoid The Talk? Eh, good enough. I’ll take it.”
