Isn't that weird, people being smuggled from CANADA into the US. As if it was so hard to get from Canada into the U.S. At least it wasn't difficult last time I went up to Canada and back again, all we had to do was stop at a border crossing and let the agent look through our car. No big deal at all. And what's so great here, is it the weather? I can understand migrant families from violent countries crossing into the U.S. in the south, but coming from Canada? It just seems bizarre.

It's not Canadians sneaking into US, it's mostly Mexicans and other countries. They're going through Canada because it's easier than the US-Mexico border.
Ok that makes more sense, I know there was a big news item last year about Canadians "Sneaking" into USA because it was warmer here last winter. But if you can make it to Canada (without being forced) then why not just stay in Canada, at least it's better economically there than where they came from.
I imagine for many that they already have family in the US. No idea what percentage that might account for, though.
That's probably true. I mean I'd rather be in the U.S. than in Canada or Mexico myself, but I've lived for a time in both and it was kind of wonderful - but then again, I'm not a native and I'm not under pressure to leave or migrate somewhere else.
