I'm going to assume she knows more about gator behavior than us, but putting her hand near the side kinda sets 'em off.

And it is a gator, not nearly as violent as a croc. OTOH, even though their behavior is well understood, those dumbasses can still be unpredictable.

Alligatora, unlike crocodiles are a lot less likely to kill humans. But the few they do kill do stupid shit like this.
