Every time I post a comment, invariably within a few seconds I read over it real quick and realize I should add a word or change something. Every damn time. No more ninja editing for me. Everyone can see how I overthink everything now. It's no longer a secret.

I think it's ok because it now says when it was edited, so you can tell, mostly, if it was before or after a comment

But yeah I kinda miss ninja edit

Can we just remove "edited" from the UI if the edit was within X minutes of the original post?

On the one hand I agree. On the other hand it has occurred to me that someone could make another user look bad by making a statement and then editing that statement after a reply to make the reply-er seem like they are unduly criticizing, or moving goal posts, or outright just bullying because the original post was edited after the second comment was made.

I make typos all the time and most of my posts are edited. I fat finger so much stuff. But it's better this way.

I'm not sure how that could happen with a "ninja" edit though - places that have ninja edits only give you a minute or two after the original submission to make a silent edit, hence the "ninja" moniker.

I think it's still theoretically possibly but probably not on purpose. That being said I didn't understand that distinction before when I made my original comment.

Would be great if an app had a delayed send.
