When I say Rise allows you to be anyone, it’s not an exaggeration

as long as "anyone" is human, which, yawn..

This is exactly why I've never played a Monster Hunter game, despite how fun it looks.

I don't want to hunt the monster, I want to be the monster. Or at least befriend it and help take down the rude humans constantly trying to stab it.

You might like Monster Hunter Stories then, you play as a rider in those befriending and raising the monsters. I haven't played them myself but they seem pretty well received.

There was a pretty nice technical demo about a year ago where you played as a Velocidrome on the Forest and Hills map, I think it was called Monster Hunter Dreams or smth. What ever happened to it?
