Summary

The Trump administration cut over $1 billion in USDA funding for schools and food banks, citing shifting priorities.

The cuts impact programs supporting local farmers and feeding underserved communities, including the $660 million Local Food for Schools program and $420 million for food banks.

Governors in Massachusetts and Illinois criticized the move, calling it harmful to children, farmers, and food-insecure families.

The cuts, linked to Elon Musk’s cost-cutting DOGE initiative, sparked backlash as Congress considers further reductions to school meal programs.

Starving the children to fund tax cuts for billionaires.

I feel for the reporters....he just cut 1billion from the blind!...ran over two cute puppies!.... Deported two mute babies....canceled banking.... Destroyed all industrial systems.... Raped 3 old ladies and one that was a solid 6....got impeached over the weekend for shooting a goat and drinking its blood right on wall street! And the reporters can barely keep up with all the oozing bullshit. As a reader I can't handle much more of this myself. I want him to stop and I don't want to hear his stupid name ever again for as long as I live.

Return those little snotters to the factories! Schools-schmools. The Holy Church will prepare them for life in no time! Praise Trump, saviour of the USA.

Holy savior anointed and appointed by a unilateral agreement between God and Satan resulting from negotiations mediated by the prophet Mohammed, which took place in Vishnu's palace. The after-party occurred in downtown Orlando at Zeus's Bar & Grill, which is well known for its diverse deitary offerings.

Those tax cuts aren't going to pay for themselves.

Apparently, slashing their budgets to the tune of $660 million, will:

"...strengthen the food system for schools and childcare institutions..."

Do you guys think they realize just how full of shit they sound?

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 7 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Do you actually think they do not know? We let them do it, that is all that matters.

[–] wwb4itcgas@lemm.ee 2 points 15 hours ago

I don't, no. I do wonder how many pounds of cocaine a person has to snort to make a statement like that without vomiting from abject self-loathing in the process though.

This is some serious world class assholery.

They know and they don’t care. Their puppets will believe them bc they lack critical thinking skills.

[–] tomi000@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

Its the tarriffs logic all over again. "paying 50% more for half our products will strengthen our economy"

[–] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

I only realize they don't give a shit about how they sound when it comes to constituents.

I once again comment that the Trump administration seems to adopt a lot of policy farmers wouldn't like, for a party of rural areas.

Doesn't matter. They'll vote Republican anyway.
