America has always been great

Greatest at genocide

Greatest at racism

Greatest at imperialism

Greatest at exploitation

Yes, it's in the air, it's in what he says, the lies he tells, and whose emotions they're aimed at. It's in the American exceptionalism he sells.

That's the vision the left has to fit into, and it's been done before. Bernie was doing it in 2016.

Compare that coherent vision of American exceptionalism with this:

Tell lies that make them feel better than the lies the other guy is telling.

It's a picture of the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School shooter during his interrogation.

He said he had voices in his head and saw demons, so the detective asked if the demons were in the room with them at the moment.

So, by using this incident, the meme is suggesting that Great Again America is not real.

He was also faking it so he could try to get off with an insanity defense.

If you're interested, JCS on YouTube covers the interrogation and whole shooting event in depth

71 Million vote for MAGA. So where is it / will it be? I'm just curious how Trump will stop the downfall of the Occident.

Trump won’t stop the decline of US imperial hegemony, but then neither would have Harris. It’s a process that’s been in motion for decades and has accumulated a lot of momentum.

There is a difference to adding some more wood to a fire and placing jet fuel onto a fire.

[–] davel@lemmy.ml 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

It’s hard to say which would have accelerated it more, but for the sake of the global majority, it can’t end soon enough.

You might think so, but today’s NASDAQ & NYSE seem to imply that Trump is the better choice for empire 📈

Yes, because the disaster that is the stock market is really going to prove anything. Economies work best when small amounts change hands often and all these people who deal in stocks care about are big numbers and getting in on the action of stealing more and more money.

They’re excited about lower taxes, removal of regulation, and the ability to further exploit the working class for short term gain. That’s all. If they actually gave a shit about having a strong economy they’d be paying their people well enough to supporty and not be chasing infinite growth in a finite system.

Is "the decline of US imperial hegemony" supposed to be a bad thing?

[–] davel@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 hours ago

That depends on whether you’re a US capitalist or labor aristocrat who benefits from US neocolonial exploitation of imperialized states.

It so happens that I do benefit, but I side with the workers of the world and against imperialism nonetheless.
