Missile defence system can't shoot non-missile common understanding.

[-] Eheran@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

It would "just" need to be developed, so the current system adapted.

[-] lurch@sh.itjust.works 6 points 9 months ago

Yeah, but then it would shoot down hobbyists.

Lurch, I already support improved missile defence, you don't have to sell me on it.

This is not something that needs to be automated. There is plenty of time to check before they fire.

I'd love to read the context for this

I believe it’s the Hamas invasion of Israel which started yesterday morning.

Some Hamas were reported to be using paragliders with assault rifles attached to them.

[-] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 35 points 9 months ago

I don't think the rifles were attached to the paragliders, the soldiers were still holding them.

The soldiers were attached to the gliders, and the guns were attached to the soldiers, so if you consider attachment to be a transitive property...

[-] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 26 points 9 months ago

So you're saying these paragliders had intelligence autonomous weapon mounting systems.

Sounds pretty noncredible to me

I think hes saying he did it.

Hes attached to the earth thats attached to the atmosphere that held up the gliders

[-] theotherone@kbin.social 8 points 9 months ago

They make it sound like the soldiers are just wetware.
