Less blurry copy

[–] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 6 points 15 hours ago

Don't know about y'all, but that's the main reason why more people don't know about my diagnosis. I've got coworkers who'd ask that immediately if I showed the slightest bit of inattentiveness.

yes, as a matter of fact, I have taken my meds today. Your story just sucks, and I already guessed the rest, 5 minutes ago, and tuned out

[–] dwindling7373@feddit.it 17 points 22 hours ago (5 children)

Are we just ignoring the glaring issue of missing the chance that the person has actually already taken their meds and will overdose in the second instance?

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 2 points 9 hours ago

You can also do the "My potions are too strong for you, traveler. You need to go to a potion seller that sells weaker potions", especially if it's that strong, especially to anyone without ADHD.

[–] Squirrelanna@lemmynsfw.com 6 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Shortsighted. The real fear here is that you'll use it at the wrong time and waste it's potential, so you save it for the perfect opportunity...

Unfortunately, you never know when you missed it and the potion is never used.

Me, two days ago. Got in so, so much trouble at work. Get home, oh. There's my pill, on my desk.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 6 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

I am not a medical professional and I obviously don't know the dosage of people in this thread. But I'll still say no one will overdose (as in harm themself or die) by accidentally taking 2x what their body is used to.

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 9 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Double dosing on ADHD meds might not kill you but it can cause anxiety attacks or even seizures. If it’s an extended release formula then you could be in for a very bad day!

[–] Lileath@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 18 hours ago

Yeah, I accidentally took my sister's ADHD mddicine instead of my own once and felt so sick later that I went home during a lesson. And my sister doesn't even get a that much higher dosis than me.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 1 points 19 hours ago

Oh wow. Important info!

[–] dwindling7373@feddit.it 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Overdose (as in accidentally taking 2x what their body is used to), obviously?

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

That's my point. It may be the medical definition, but colloquially, no one uses it like that.

[–] dwindling7373@feddit.it 1 points 20 hours ago

Am I a joke to you?

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Are you being serious right now? because if so, what's wrong with you, mate?

[–] dwindling7373@feddit.it 2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I'm being appropriately serious given the context. How serious are you being?

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 21 hours ago (1 children)
[–] dwindling7373@feddit.it 5 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

That's slightly less serious than me then. What's up with your reaction?

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Well I wasn't sure if you were serious due to lack of body language. :)

[–] dwindling7373@feddit.it 4 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

That wouldn't help, I'm a firm believer in performing fabricated outrage for comical effect.

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 20 hours ago

Careful, you're messing with AuDHDers!

[–] Smith6826@sopuli.xyz 1 points 15 hours ago

If accidentally doubling up on their prescription ADHD meds causes someone to overdose (with no additional factors), then they have a grossly incompetent doctor.

[–] Samvega@lemmy.blahaj.zone 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What about, "take this and you will see beyond the veil of mystery into the beating heart of a universe which seeks to pervert, destroy, and drive you unutterably mad"?

[–] SpruceBringsteen@lemmy.world 8 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

These are just two tickets to see Jersey Boys?

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 5 points 23 hours ago

And I was hoping for Hamilton

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 10 points 1 day ago (4 children)

No it fuckin doesnt.

"It's dangerous out there, take this" is that old man, with a SWORD. And I'm pretty sure it's the only Zelda game where an old man gives you anything.

It's more like literally any other videogame

[–] the_artic_one@programming.dev 16 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

He gives you a bunch of stuff in different caves throughout the game.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 3 points 19 hours ago

Not crucial but you got me there. I had no idea. Glad to be corrected.

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 6 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

you know, you're right. And I thought of making a similar comment. But it doesn't really matter for the punchline, except us nerds are peeved by the inaccuracy. In Oracle of Seasons, he goes "Oh keeper of the essences! I have awaited your arrival! I give you this!", so imo that's close enough

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 9 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

I mean if you're going to make a nerd joke for nerds, why not make it accurate for nerds?

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

Don't think every nerd has ADHD. or they other way around. But I don't disagree with you

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 2 points 23 hours ago

Or if drug joke, include better drugs

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Holy shit, you nerds are getting way too upset about the meme not being accurate to geek lore.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I wasn't really trying to sound too upset, I was a cranky mess this morning. Sorry if I got on your nerves. Just thought I could be pedantic since I wasn't talking directly to the Tweeter and wouldn't hurt anybody

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

It's ok I'm not upset, I'm just pointing out that the crankiness might be a bit overblown 😆

[–] flicker@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Neurodivergent people getting cranky on the internet? Whaaaaaat?

But actually, getting into fights online is dopamine seeking behavior. So being nitpicky, cranky, pedantic nerds is kind of a symptom.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 2 points 13 hours ago

I'm not just a problem. I'm also a solution. NaCl salty

[–] hex@programming.dev 1 points 16 hours ago

That's rude mate

[–] flicker@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago

In Breath of the Wild, that's how you get your hang glider. From an old man.

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 1 points 16 hours ago

Help me glamorize taking my grip of anti-rejection pills.
