I feel responsible for this comic.

You are. This is such an awesome and wholesome thread. Must be wierd making a random comment and someone turns it into a comic

Ghosts pass through solid wall/door. Celebrate finding a key. Unfortunately they cannot remove it from the room as it is solid and cannot pass through matter like they can. Ghosts get depressed about this.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Why would they need a key when they simply float through the door anyways

On you, apparently.

I did not spot the key. My B. Thanks for the explanation! (Panel 3 is not them passing through the solid door into the key room?)

The ghost is sad because it locked itself out/forgot the key inside. Second ghost shows up an tells them to just warp through because they are ghosts. But instead of being happy they are inside and never needed the key, they try to move the key outside so they can unlock the door to get inside.

Wow. That was immediately apparent to you? Seriously asking.

[–] groet@feddit.org 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

No. The key looks strange and I hab to reread it a few times. I'm also quite certain I have seen the same joke before in a different comic

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

You did it’s linked below in this thread

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 3 points 2 months ago

Wasn't obvious to me either until I reread the original, and the inciting comment. Definitely a tier 2 comic

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

It helps that we read the original comic this was based on (linked earlier up) too

Thanks a lot! Somehow the links kept returning 404 after multiple attempts to upload it.

Now it should show.

In the game Taskmaker, one of the things I always try to do as soon as possible is acquire a vapor ring (allows you to walk through nearly any wall/tile). Facing a bad guy who is too strong? Become ethereal and walk into the middle of a wall, rest up, and return until he's beaten (or you run out of food or get bored).

Not to mention all the looting potential.

When I originally played the game, it was a demo that didn't include most of the locations. It did include a range of items. So, I knew this trick before I got the full game. I had practically become the taskmaker before I had the full game.
