The Lunar Remastered Collection is bringing the classic RPGs Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete to PS5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. These remastered versions feature enhanced graphics and audio, a widescreen mode, and quality-of-life improvements, alongside re-recorded English dialogue. Scheduled for release in Spring 2025.

What are your thoughts on revisiting these games with updated visuals and sound?

I'm excited to share it with my kid.

Now that I'm getting into retro gaming as an actual hobby I want to try the originals if I can, but these will still probably be quite good.

I’ve found originals can be very hit or miss. For example I’m a FF6 purist, but FF5 sucked natively with just a language patch. YMMV.

I don't know. I kind of feel like it's just another heartless cash grab... but at the same time for the people who have not gotten to experience it, Lunar is probably one of the best top down RPG experiences of all time.

So I guess I most likely won't be buying it for myself but I'm glad for everyone that gets a chance to play it.

Is Working Designs still in business?!

No, but Victor Ireland now runs Gaijinworks. However, it looks like neither are involved based on the credits on the PlayStation Store page for the game.

Yeah, that localization was one of the reasons that was so well loved. The PSP redid all that and while still enjoyable, it wasn't quite as compelling as the WD effort.

Ahhh, fun name he came up with. I'll have to see what he's working on these days. Thank you!
