On Anime

While Anime is a beloved animation style with a rich history and extensive following, our focus here leans towards other forms of animation. This is due to the immense popularity of Anime in online spaces, which is amply covered by other dedicated communities.

This doesn't mean that Anime related conversation is not allowed here, only that it's not our focus. For a dedicated Anime instance, check out ani.social.

On Technical Discussion

While our primary goal is to discuss animated media, conversations about animation techniques and the process of creating animation are also welcome. Whether you're a budding animator seeking to understand more about the industry, or a seasoned professional sharing your experiences, you're welcome here.

Bob's Burgers is pretty constantly good even after 13 seasons.

I'll always recommend Venture Bros. and Futurama. Especially the first 4 seasons.

Rewatching Venture Bros. in order after only having seen it on tv years ago aired out of order makes a massive difference, too. I didn't realize how many episodes I'd seen were really from earlier seasons.

I know it has a cult following, but in case there are others who are like me: I had hard time getting into King of the Hill when it aired. I'm really glad I gave it another shot. Most episodes are solid with great character moments, and a handful are right up there with the best of Simpsons and Futurama.

King of the Hill is definitely an acquired taste. Some episodes are easy to bounce off of, but after a few you might find yourself enjoying it. Good suggestion!

The other suggestions here are the main ones I'd mention - Venture Bros, Bobs Burgers, Futurama.

Squidbillies I think deserves a spot on the list.

There are several other great Adult Swim shows I'd like to mention here, but they mostly didn't run more than a few seasons. Superjail, China IL, Metalocalypse, Space Dandy.

I'd also recommend The Great North. Its newer and at first feels pretty similar to Bob's Burgers, but the characters feel more fleshed out to me and the family dynamic I think makes for more interesting TV. It's only like five seasons so far I think.

I still like the Simpsons. Newer stuff isn't as good, but it's still better than most tv shows
