In all honesty, I think Starbucks does pretty well in providing resources and perks to staff members. But their shitty behavior with creating unions is disgusting.

And staff members, when you're arguing for your $1-2 raise... Remember that this guy is making $85 mil. And Chipotle has gone to shit.

resources and perks to staff members

it's not enough to offset the shit pay which is made even shittier when they send you home early if it's "not busy" for 20 minutes, which leaves 3 people doing the work of 5 people when it inevitably gets busy after people were sent home. so customers come in to a store where everyone's all out of fucks to give about anyone's 20 syllable bougie bullshit latte, and say "maybe i'll go somewhere else next time," and baristas say "please fucking do"

Id prefer they paid living wages. And allowed staff to unionise. Those are basic minimums

Chipotle really has gone to shit, so this surprised me. I can't even read my receipt at most local Chipotles in order to fill out their feedback survey and tell them as much...

He's making more than $85m. Far more. This is just for taking the job.

So make the portions smaller, charge more, make more money for shareholders next year, until people catch on and downhill from there, just like Chipotle. But then this guy will simply take his payout and move on to the next.

Starbucks is already overpriced as is... wtf is this guy going to do make 15 bucks 1lb bowl?

[–] isles@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

You just need to do an aggressive head nod at the barista and you'll get a slightly bigger portion.

Fuck them. Make the CEO salary 10x the average employee's salary. You make dime, boss makes milions.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 months ago

10x the lowest salary

[–] Makhno@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Why the fuck should they get 10x the salary? They aren't doing 10x the work. Fuck em.

You can have a company without a CEO. You can't have a company without the boots-on-the-ground employees

This guy made more money by switching jobs than I’ll ever make in my whole life.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Far, far more. Millions of times more.

I just don’t understand how a comp package of that scale is even remotely defensible.
