If the Headquaters are situated in the ocean, they are Headqwaters.

Ah yes, North America, birthplace of Linus Torvalds and only part of the world where Linux is developed

It's just that the original is a very funny joke about Linus Torwalds on his walking desk, the "fixes" are ... I don't know what they are but they are not jokes but are being posted in "Programmer Humor".

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee -5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i already explained you once why the original joke is badly crafted. the fact that people repeatedly don't understand it is the proof of that fact, so you claiming "it is a good joke" in the infinite loop is not really going to change that.

[–] jeena@jemmy.jeena.net 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I just disagree with you on that.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee -5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

it is not matter of opinion, it is objective fact, so... keep disagreeing with reality, if it pleases you.

But the headline is "Headquaters" ...

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago

It's a typo from "headquarters."

The original pic shows Linus Torvalds at a pc on a stand up desk, from like 1990ish. I.e., Linux doesn't have a HQ, I guess.

Microsoft and Apple have offices around the world though, so it doesn't really make sense

Idk about Microsoft. But apple has Apple park which is their main building. Not pictured in the image above though for some reason

[–] OutdoorDining@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Look at the font they used for Microsoft, this meme is ancient.

They stopped using that logo in 2012

Linux has a branch on Mars

[–] ReakDuck@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yeah, the picture is wrong, the mars needs to be in that pic too

[–] ReakDuck@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 year ago

It does, Microsoft and Apple only have a few offices and are just run on some consumer PCs and some buisnesses.

Linux on the other hand, literally runs everywhere, even on the Mars. Linux also is developed on too many locations and its on even more locations compiled and tweaked. Nothing competes that I guess.
