Project 2025 seems to have 3 groups.

  • Those that are terrified about it.
  • Those that would be terrified if they knew more about it.
  • Those that think it won't affect them or anyone they care about. (See leopards ate my face party)
[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You forgot about group 4: The people who really want it to happen.

[–] DarthBueller@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I haven’t mentioned Project 2025 to my parents or my siblings because it is the culmination of everything they’ve been told they want since they voted for Reagan. It would make them vote harder. So yeah, you’re right.

Make poster about it

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

and a big issue is how many people from group 2 immediately move into group 3 when they are told about it

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 40 points 1 month ago

I remember when Trump separated Mexican children from their parents and kept them in actual cages while moving their parents several states away without keeping any records of which children go with which parents. Lovely guy.

“But not me,” think the people who will vote for him and have friends or family incarcerated.

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Once the consequences have landed in their backyard, they'll suddenly care... and by then, it will be far too late to act (งツ)ว

That's when you blame the Other, duh. Covid? Bidens fault exclusively.

Jesus fucking Christ how could I forget about Hussien Obama in his communist tan mustard suit! THANKS OBOMBA

[–] Audacious@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

These are the people who denied covid until it was too late.

[–] MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

Too late? Some still deny its impact after the fact

Are we not currently in an era of mass incarceration? It looks like currently the US is 6th in the world for incarceration rate and 1st in the world for total number of prisoners.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/262962/countries-with-the-most-prisoners-per-100-000-inhabitants/

Wait until the second Trump administration announces that if you're Latino, you go to prison if you're detained without your papers and if you're queer, well, that's just prison.

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

if you’re queer, well, that’s just prison.

Peter Thiel too?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"When you're wealthy, they let you do it."

[–] psvrh@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago
[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It actually used to be worse! We used to be 1st for incarceration rate too 😬

[–] ryven@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago

I was honestly shocked when I looked for a source and found out we weren't first anymore. We were first for a long time.

[–] AlexWIWA@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 month ago

Yes, and it will get worse

[–] Azal@pawb.social 3 points 1 month ago

I believe the response is in the territory of just because it's bad now doesn't mean it won't get so much worse.

I mean, I'm amazed we're not 1st in incarceration... and Project 2025 thinks that's losers numbers.

[–] Tryptaminev@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

Yes you are, and it is very convenient for the DNC that they can blame it on Trump, while taking bribes from private prison companies too. It is still the same cabal like around Bill Clinton who passed mandatory minimums for drug possession.

[–] radivojevic@discuss.online 22 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Too bad we can’t actually talk about what should happen due to community censorship.

[–] RIPandTERROR@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The patriotic thing would be to tar and feather politicians per history.

[–] radivojevic@discuss.online 2 points 1 month ago (2 children)
[–] RIPandTERROR@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

Gotta start somewhere

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't think many people actually survived tarring and feathering. They'd probably have more luck nowadays though.

[–] radivojevic@discuss.online 2 points 1 month ago

I suppose you’re right. Those burns would be pretty bad. I forgot tar would be HOT.

[–] andyburke@fedia.io 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Here you are, saying things.... 🤷‍♂️

[–] radivojevic@discuss.online 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] confusedbytheBasics@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Try saying something then?

[–] radivojevic@discuss.online 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I wouldn’t want to break any rules.

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Which rules? Rules 1-7 are only about posts and I'm sure you could make your point without using a url shortener.

[–] radivojevic@discuss.online 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If you’re being cryptic about the url shortener, I’m afraid it went over my head.

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No, I was speculating on what rule you were thinking you would be breaking.

[–] radivojevic@discuss.online 2 points 1 month ago

“Inciting violence” or “celebrating violence”

[–] rsuri@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Correction: a new era of mass incarceration of poor people. Trump pardoned many wealthy people in his first administration, no doubt that will continue.

[–] Rooskie91@discuss.online 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is that different from the current era we are in?

[–] Azal@pawb.social 6 points 1 month ago

I mean... worse is different.

ACLU didn't say we're going from a shining world to bad... they're saying "OH BOY IF YOU THINK THINGS ARE BAD NOW!"

[–] Badeendje@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

And so much debt..
