I tried this out a couple nights ago and was a little disappointed. It was taking me 3 shots to kill a Charger. Maybe I shouldn't have been aiming at their heads?

Haven’t tried it against bugs but it’s pretty good against bots. A single rocket to destroy Fabricators from any angle is a pretty sweet deal.

Two tapping canon towers from any angle is also smexy

It regularly takes me 2. It's not a one shot, but considering it's on par with EATs for damage but has 4 shots per call down, I'm ok with it.

Anti tank is more powerful and has a shorter call down time so you can use it as a hot swappable third weapon

It feels balanced between the commando and the EATs. Not having to run back and pick the remaining ordnance is nice, plus there is a small amount of "heat seeking". The lesser damage and increased cooldown offset these advantages.

The commando really shines with the bots to blow up buildings though.

I've been running the commando with light armor, jet pack, and a blitzer. I've grown addicted to the high-speed "ride or die" action that load out gives me.

Because that load out requires that you keep moving to avoid damage, the EAT doesn't really work that well. The commando seems to fit the role well. That being said, its not that good against bugs.
