I'm inclined to believe he actually means what he says about his team. He gives them mad props all the time and even stepped away from DS2 because he trusted they could do it without him. It just kinda sucks that BandaiNamco caused a lot of problems asking for constant changes and rewrites on that one.
I thought in japan you never quit your job or face a shit time of not getting hired because they are all 'black companies' and wont hire you under the assumption you could quit
