We're not talking about "norms", we're talking about "law". And it's always important to remember the whatever powers you give this president, you have to give the next. What happens if Biden breaks the law for his own goals, even if those goals are noble, and then Trump is elected in?

A politician who breaks laws on their own whim is a tyrant, full stop. And even a noble tyrant doesn't help anyone in the long run.

No, we're talking about norms. Laws that don't have enforcement mechanisms are polite suggestions. Biden, like a good liberal, obeys the rules of the playground.

What happens if Biden breaks the law for his own goals, even if those goals are noble, and then Trump is elected in?

Nothing stops Trump from just breaking those laws anyway! In fact, he spent his term doing exactly what you're talking about. Your theory about how laws actually function is extremely flawed. We're rapidly heading to an election where half the country will vote for a convicted criminal, we are so far past the point you're making that it comes across as a joke.

Well, with a disregard for law and accountability like that, I'm glad you're never going to be elected to an office lol
