Actually I find it pretty sad, considering mental health might be at stake here
It's staged. To give you an idea, that was "greatest freakout ever" #1, posted 14 years ago. "Greatest freakout ever" #47 was posted 2 months ago.

To be honest I don't think the first or second was staged but once it got famous they backpedaled to save Stevens face and also do more videos
