Meanwhile the UK keep their aura of Europe's saviors, nonwhistanding the fact British troops evacuated swiftly from Dunkirk in may-june 1940, leaving the French alone against the Wehrmacht...

Didn't we (UK) also bomb the French fleet albeit to avoid the Germans from repurposing them?

My take is shit happens in war, the US did what they could when they could. But the same dignity needs to be given to the French.

We were allied then, we sure as hell need to be allied now
