I don't know why people post images of text on social media. If they had just copied/pasted, it would have word-wrapped for literally everyone. But a horizontal image of text is bad on a smartphone. I have to zoom in so I can read it, pan right to the end of the line, drag left to the next line, and so on. Or I could go into my phone's settings, enable screen rotation, re-orientate my phone in my hand, zoom in again, and maybe I can read it all now... More often than not, I just skip the post.
The alternative is a Twitter post.

Thanks for the transcription. Adding the text of a screenshot helps out blind peeps online.
Oh, excellent point.
some people use xcancel, a twitter proxy if you will, to read posts without giving traffic to actual twitter. its a good balance imo.
I tried Nitter once but could not get it to work. Thanks for the recommendation.
I use this to select a healthy Nitter instance: https://status.d420.de/
Often people do this to fly under the word monitor radar.
Is that even a thing on lemmy? Or are you thinking it's just force of habit?
It's probably a SOP at this point.
