I've posted this to reddit before, but the post has gotten lost among an automod flurry. I've got some longer travel coming up and this thing has been on my mind again, so I'm looking for some suggestions!

I feel like some kind of fold up option is just going to cause problems. I wonder if a delta would be better for that- haven’t played with one but maybe the up-and-down motion would be easier to self calibrate and compensate for any play.
