They already made Battleship. That board game has even less implied plot than VS, so that argument isn't the roadblock for Hollywood that it should be.
The lack of plot can actually be helpful as it gives more freedom without upsetting any fans about breaking lore. Also battleship was a far better movie than it had any right to be.
Yea, it was one of the last things I watched off a streaming service when I was really scraping the bottom of the barrel before I cancelled them and I was surprised to find it pretty entertaining.
Battleship was pro navy propaganda like top gun.
Same with LoL
While not exactly a plot, LoL launched with a decent amount of lore, and grew over time. I still have my physical copy that came with a map of the nations and where main characters were from.
They wiped all canon because they felt continuity made it too hard to make interesting stories
Everything that came out since is akin to fan fiction
They rewrote the lore, and it now has depth with spin offs, books, online lore, in-game events, especially Legends of Runeterra. Shifting away from ryze as the main character was a great choice.
