Wohl wegen der Datenschutzregeln will Meta Threads nicht in der EU verfügbar machen. Unklar ist, ob die angekündigte Anbindung an Mastodon trotzdem klappt.

You know the fediverse is not a cryptocurrency right? There is no 51% attack here. Or do you mean something else?

I guess it's a metaphor. As long as FB doesn't control the majority of users, they have to comply with standards.

But that's the key issue here. Meta comes with a huge user base that they can nudge onto the new service. By integrating xmpp into Gmail, Google created (one of) the biggest xmpp services in an instant.
