I'm actually on a SFW instance. I'm here for news (excluding US R vs. D "news") and fringe hobbies.
Allow me to let you in on a little secret: having fringe hobbies is pretty much the nerdiest thing ever. And guess what: that's a GOOD thing!
So maybe be less of a judgmental hypocrite about what OTHER people like? 🤷
where was OP judgemental? Don't tell me you're offended by the inclusion of the word "shit" after "nerdy", when you just cast "nerdy" in such a bright light, and we all know only simple minds are offended by curse words. so, what was judgemental?
Bragging about blocking everything they deem nerdy IS some very judgmental vice signalling lol.
That's why they changed it to "tech stuff", which doesn't even make sense when you consider that American news and politics are amongst the topics blocked 🙄
Oof. I've had a couple communities blocked, cause I don't want to hear about Trump.
Then I thought "hey I'm not interested in tech, anime or furry stuff, I'll just block related communities as they pop up"
Then I noticed that this is a never-ending endeavour on lemmy, which I wanted to meme about.

Ok, so, be in their shoes, try to list all those different types of communities, effectively? They generalized, its what we do when we dont want to make a sub-scope of a complaint the focus of the complaint.
