I want my day mildly ruined, not completely ruined.

I've literally never seen right wing media on YouTube. Maybe stop watching stuff that makes YouTube think you're into right wing media?
Easier said than done. Watching seemingly unrelated things will get you these recommendations anyway. If I had to guess, watching videos that are also watched by the cohort of right-wing-media-watchers will align your algorithm more with that cohort, even if the videos are not right wing media.
There also seems to be no nuance. Watching anything politics aside, watching "Person X's new policy completely debunked" feels like it has the same pull to the right as "Libs triggered by person X's new policy".
I watch a shit ton of YT, try to not watch any rage-bait or similar and I diligently prune my homepage daily with clicking "Not Interested" & "Don't recommend channel". It took a while for these recommendations to creep in, but now that they are here they are relentless. I also feel like it took a miniscule amount of videos, compared to the amount I watch, to cause this change.
It's even worse in the shorts algorithm.
All of the content I consume in YouTube shorts is like cute animals and food related, but I still keep getting "BEN SHAPIRO OWNS LIBERAL" and "Jordan Peterson gives his very important opinion on something he doesn't know shit about" at least ~10% of the time.
Additionally, if you do end up on some right wing video, don’t downvote it. It just tells the algorithm you will engage with that content
More than that, I never saw political or controversial "influencer" content on YouTube at all. It's mostly tech reviews, memes, travel and photography videos, just exactly what I watch.
Algorithms are so good these days it's kinda funny to see someone being angry about being offered to watch the same stuff they usually watch
I do get some political(left and right) media on YouTube but that's because I activity watch it sometimes. Before i never got it
The best way to stop getting it is to indeed stop interacting with it.
I already have all the political content in another chanell. It absolutely didn't work.
Wdym with you have it in another channel. Do you like switch channel for political content. If so then it's probably based on ip adres or else idk
What part of what I said about my history being shut down did you not read? Also, of course, the left-wing videos that I watch, plus the physics channel where the host is also left-wing, plus the investigation channel where the host is also left-wing, plus the audio-story channel where, guess what, the host is also from the left, plus the channel that publishes old movies in the public domain, plus the songs with leftist content that I listen to, all of this adds up to the obvious fact that I am from the right! But of course, the algorithm knows better what I am. It's not like Google is behind several scandals about top tier advertisers being right-wing think thanks! (A parenthesis, I am talking about my country, Brasil, in the US Google maybe have Dem Party bias, but also the Dem Party is only left-wing in the crazy minds of Americans)
