ManifestV3 isn't enough to label it unsafe ??? Yeah , they're trying to kill Adblockers and privacy extensions but who cares, am I right ? It's not like every website is so riddleed with ads, viruses, tracking scripts and cookies they're unusable.
Privacy != Safety. Chromium is one of the safest browsers, and nothing will change that unless Google themselves add malware.
Although, yes, Manifest V3 is killing ublock and other extensions. Switch to Firefox!
Ublock origin blocked so many malware sites. In fact privacy = safety.
How is privacy related to safety? I don't understand how you think one extension makes you private, please explain
When grandpa get pop-up spams on his phone/computer slowing it to a crawl or is asked to put his Facebook /bank account info because he may have won an iPhone. These are the most widespread viruses and are mostly caused by ads. Extensions like ublock origin get rid of ads and malicious scam links like these so grandpa don't get his life savings siphoned.
Plus , Ads often hijack the website using forced redirection , blocking you from exiting with endless notification prompt and pop-ups and even if you know how to deal with them, it's still hard to do because they're programmed to fight back any attempt to exit them so it's miles easier to just use an adblock.
You're talking about safety... Not privacy. Protecting my funds, or my father's funds from scammers is not privacy, but safety.
Bruhhhhh, how can't you make the obvious connecton laid out right in the front of your face in very digestible format
I'll make it even simpler : the calls the extention relay on to guarantee your privacy and safety are mostly the same.
Google says: "Privacy involves your right to manage your personal information, and security is the protection of this information. Both are equally important aspects of cyber safety. You have privacy rights and should take measures to secure your personal information and data within the digital environment."
We're talking about two different terms of security. You are talking about security is the sense of protecting information while I'm talking about safety from mailicous attempts to hijack a computer.
My definition is not related to privacy, so it makes sense that we're arguing over nothing.
Dude, you proved us that you don't know what manifest v3 is going to do to the users, the conversation can end here. It's just disappointing and sad how people are so uneducated about cyber-privacy/safety.
Yes, I totally don't know about privacy! You're right, I should google what privacy is and buy nordvpn for my safety!
