Lol yep. It cracks me up when people think just because they aren't going to one extreme or the other with their speculation that they aren't still engaging in wild speculation. That's not how it works.

Shouldn't you delete this post since there's nothing to be discussed about the situation?

[-] DxK@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 2 months ago

I'm sure you thought you just made an excellent point.

[-] ShepherdPie@midwest.social -1 points 1 month ago

About as excellent as your post that nobody is allowed to discuss for some odd reason.

[-] catloaf@lemm.ee -4 points 2 months ago

They specifically said they were speculating.

[-] jwelch55@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

How could it ever be helpful to make up random guesses about a news article?

[-] NoIWontPickAName@kbin.earth -3 points 2 months ago

Not everything has to be helpful

[-] catloaf@lemm.ee -3 points 2 months ago

This is an Internet comments section. If you're expecting everything to be 100% productive discussion, you're going to have a bad time.

They actually didn't "specifically" say that. At all. Until editing their comment an hour after being called out.

[-] catloaf@lemm.ee -5 points 2 months ago

They said "I'm going to bet". That's literal speculation.

[-] DxK@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Okay so you clearly do not know what the words specific and literal mean. Got it.

[-] catloaf@lemm.ee -3 points 2 months ago

Apparently not, please enlighten me. I am eager to hear your definitions.
