But it is certainly true that Charlotte was already eager to be close to Rozemyne, before it was politically convenient for her and we know from Charlotte's inner thoughts how much she cares for Rozemyne, so it might well be fully genuine, or at least a combination of that and the political aspects.

Either way.... With how Charlotte introduced maternal symbols to put on schtappes at the Royal Academy, she must have something close to a personal crest already. So if I was in Rozemyne's place, I'd have suggested combinding their respective crests into a single design and then both of them could have worn a medallion with it, to show that the bond goes both ways. That would also set it further apart from the feystones Rozemyne's favoured get and make clear that this is not a symbol of subservience, but of a bond between equals.
