I honestly didn't give death stranding a try. Metal Gear is my favorite series, but the idea of Hideo Kojima and his over complicated, all over the wall style of long form story telling, without the cast and world of metal Gear behind it, just didn't appeal to me.

I also have a personal distaste for Norman Reddus so it was easy to avoid.

As soon as I saw the trailer it was a nope for me, and Reddus looks like a monkey's alcoholic, burned out uncle.

imagine someone with a short term memory loss condition, who had had one philosophy class prior to the accident that caused their condition. They'd endlessly repeat the same idealistic message over and over, because they keep forgetting that they have already just told you. Sometimes with different words, but sometimes not.
