PSA: Federation does not work correctly with some instances (self.metadiscussions)

Currently known problematic:

  • lemmy.ml
  • beehaw.org

I'll look into possible causes for the problem, as of right now the most likely culprit is the excessive server load on these two instances preventing the federation actions from completing.

Regarding federation, searching for [!aobprepub@bookwormstory.social](/c/aobprepub@bookwormstory.social) should work but currently doesn't (reliably), please use the full url instead (in this case https://bookwormstory.social/c/aobprepub), federation might take some time so give it up to a minute before assuming it failed.

If that doesn't work please refer to my other comment
