Did the switch a little while ago too, couldn't be happier.

Is that a per-app thing that can be done in Mint? Pretty much only get tearing in firefox when playing video, and I tried the 'layers.acceleration.force-enabled true' setting in about:config for firefox, but that didn't really make a difference.

I'm thinking its either nvidia on linux being nvidia on linux, or it not liking mixed resolutions and refresh rates. But really the only noticeable tearing I get is in firefox when playing video like youtube or something.

Made the switch this weekend :) From Win 11 to Mint 22. Haven't run into any real issues really. I have the occasional screen tear on some videos in firefox though. Haven't searched around enough yet to figure that out, but otherwise all good.

and it decided to work on the lemmy.world website directly this time apparently x.x

App version 1.0.4(7) phone is a Pixel pro 6 running android 14

And really any steps are just to start a new post as an image post within the app, select the image I want to upload and it throws the error every time. I don't think I'm doing anything special. Images I had initially tried to upload with the app, I just posted on imgur : https://imgur.com/a/kLJjFQ7, I can try to add an image here and see if it works here too, but this issue may be a 'lemmy.world' issue anyway, as in another comment in this thread, I mentioned I was getting json errors too. But maybe I'll get lucky and it'll show up this time lol

Apparently not, tried logging into lemmy.world with Chrome and Firefox, get json errors when trying to upload any images (as a post or in a comment/reply)

I keep getting generic 'failed to upload image' errors when trying to do image posts or post images in comments. My account is logged into lemmy.world, is there a way to see any more details about the errors? I can't figure out why they keep failing. Different formats, etc too.

Update

I think I figured it out, appears to be an issue with file size. Haven't nailed down if it's an issue with resolution or file size, but I've been sticking with 1mb or less and less than 2048x2048 and things have been working out so far.

Thank you for the help/replies :)
