In the UK there's a card game "top trumps":
Also in various card games (with a standard 52 card deck), like bridge, beating one hand with a better hand would be said to have one hand 'trump' another.
I hate that there's a shady guy out there that has that word so tied to him.

As a fan of the souls borne games, I'm thoroughly enjoying AC6, nearing the end of my first play through, and will likely do at least one lap of NG+
My biggest complaint is that new items are spread out well, seems to be a dump of new stuff then nothing for ages.
I'm nearing the second go through of Leviathan Wakes, knowing where the series ends, it's great to revisit it.
I agree, it was amazing, but I feel Homeworld Cataclysm was highly underrated.
