I think they're referring to the fact that you can only continue using an unsupported version of MacOS for two years, not that the computer will only get two years of support.

During exams my university would drag an old car into the middle of the campus, and students were allowed to beat it to a pulp for $5. They'd give you a bat and you could just smash it to pieces.

10/10, would smash again.
