CEO Sam Altman, who had previously emphasized that he didn’t have any equity in the company, will now get equity worth billions, in addition to ultimate control over OpenAI.

what! You mean he stands to profit billions after lying about his intentions?! A techbro would never!!

In addition to pumping real estate valuation, it seems like moves like this are a form of cutting workers without having to do layoffs. They know a large number of workers are wont be able to readjust, and will have to quit.

thank you, that was what i saw. I was fully expecting to find articles that would back it up, (why else would you make such a claim?) but nope. I couldnt find anything to support it.

it was in a discussion on Bluesky, but nothing official.

I tried finding more info but couldn't, so theres probably nothing to it. I'll delete my previous comment as it was just unfounded rumours

I agree. The game development side of Nintendo are top notch, and care a lot about quality game design, fun, replayability, all the good stuff. These people do good work.

But the corporate/legal side of Nintendo, they are indeed raging assholes.

cliched yes, but I will always remember how scared as hell I was playing Silent Hill for the first time in high school, when you go down that dutch angle alleyway and the evil toddlers stab you to death...

i couldnt play any more for a few days haha, it was a pretty stand out memory for scary game stuff. Its hard to state how unexpected it was at the time, I hadnt played any early horror games, and I dont know how many similar experiences there were at the time (year 2000ish) so it really was brutal and surprising

Has anybody given this game a try? I've been considering it for a while, but money is tight. Curious if it was worth it.

Or conversely, other other new simulation games you would recommend?

I am looking for more games like this: though this list seems like a good starting point.

Anybody have any recommendations or experiences with city builders (the less-stressful variety, not like Frostpunk or something haha)

Thanks!
