The judge asked lawyers how a suit by Charleston, S.C., claiming oil companies misled people about climate risks, might be affected by a Trump executive order blasting cases like these.

Across four different experiments he could see that perceived unfairness - especially when the tax was proposed to be distributed in an unfair way that would make poor people pay disproportionally much, compared to richer groups and corporations - not only limited support for the proposed climate taxes, it also made the participants perceive the taxes as less effective and lowered their trust in policymakers.

  • they are really expensive
  • have a history of costing far more than promised
  • nuclear executives have a history of dishonesty, so you need to check absolutely every detail

It may be long and narrow, but California is huge. It's a about a four hour drive from a major city to the NV state line.

Not surprised. Pretty standard part of corporate PR efforts, and the value to Mobil of sponsoring Masterpiece Theatre decades ago is pretty well documented.

The question is what is most cost-effective at cutting emissions with a limited budget. I dont claim to known the right answer, but that's how I would decide if it was up to me.

Talk with people you know. Let them know what is going on. Call your congressmember. Visit your congressmembers district office. Get people organized to turn out and turn out others during the midterms next year.

Yeah, GM was working with California in a fairly constructive way for several years. This is a major flip from that.
