The Surface isn't a great Linux device, unfortunately.

I'm not using AVM products, as they don't fit my requirements (e.g. network segregation). Ubiquiti makes decent prosumer hardware with their Unifi line and I'm quite happy with their offerings.

Ich frage mich auch, was die Zielgruppe sein soll, auf der Webseite wird ja Education besonders hervorgehoben. Die meisten Kids in der westlichen Welt nehmen aber halt eher nen iPad oder Laptop. Und in einkommensschwachen Ländern sind 80$ plus Peripherie einfach zu teuer.

Auch wenn deine Vorhersage wild ist, kann ich dir nicht folgen. Windows wird immer mehr in die Cloud wandern, schon wegen des ganzen Copilot/AI Krams. Remote Rendering ist kein Hexenwerk mehr (xCloud, Azure Remote Rendering, AVD) und den Firmen wird das im Rahmen von Zero Trust auch noch schmackhaft gemacht.

Darüber hinaus ist Linux mittlerweile in der Tat ein vollwertiger Ersatz für Consumer-Desktops. Man müsste es nur wollen, also auch - oder vor allem - als Consumer.
