I was totally nooooooo! keep going, I wanted to see what happened when Mestionora took her body!
Maybe we're going to get that from Ferdinand's POV.
And yes, I love the way they are actually two complementary gremlins to outsiders.

I feel confident that if it's not what she wants when the situation becomes apparent to her, she'll simply bend reality to suit her as she always has. She now holds tremendous power if she chooses to wield it, and in particular is probably the only person now with power over Ferdinand. Lots of ways to solve it when you're an Aub.
Thank goodness it seems the Sigiswald path is off the table, that would have been deeply isolating and unfair.
I am honestly pretty impressed by how neatly and completely Ferdinand neutralized Gervasio, while causing him no real harm.
“Did you skip autumn and call winter early without even greeting the supreme gods?” - Do I interpret this correctly that unmarried man is treated as family member? Of course it goes over Rozemyne’s head.
Yes, I interpret it the same way, that they see that he is acting as her spouse and they're kind of wondering what their relationship is now.
From my perspective: in the mana replenishment hall, Ferdinand made his decision. Rozemyne hasn't quite connected the dots as to what she agreed to or the various implications. That regardless of what their relationship looks like personally, that there's no real way for there to be the outcome she wants where they aren't married, at least by the norms of this society.
On the other hand, as a Zent candidate, Aub Ahrensbach, or Avatar of Mestionora, who's to say she can't change those norms if she pleases.
I kind of love that everyone else is freaked out about her new aura but that Ferdinand didn't even blink, that we had no idea it had happened until other people were added to the mix.
It was pretty surprising to me that Rozemyne even suggested it. But I think she's also a little caught up in a whirlwind and not really able to look at the big picture. Ferdinand's ability to take in the situation extremely quickly and react very tactically even on very short notice with unexpected changes is what makes him a genius in this world.
I wonder if the royal family even realized that Lanzenave may have had some of that information. Maybe not possible to ask them without unacceptable risk, but it seems like they know very little about pretty much anything.
When Rozemyne and Ferdinand are in sync as they were in this part, I really enjoy the way their characters shape and bounce off each other.
I loved Rozemyne's little speech there. Also Ferdinand's shrewd move to contact Anastasius separately and directly.
Pretty shocking that Trauerqual totally folded unless he was thinking that would mean the family would be spared. At least have the wit to flee.
Sylvester is an interesting character and I always enjoy when we get his point of view.
Rozemyne: "So what wonderful dream did you have?"
Ferdinand: "It was nothing worth mentioning."
LOL, I have a pretty good guess as to the topic of the dream. ;-)
I quite enjoyed Magdalena's chapter. Delightfully quick on the uptake, as we would expect from all we know about her, and as a daughter of Dunkelfelger besides.
