Thought I'd post the whole thread here, since every Nintendo/Gaming "news outlet" out there is making a whole post out of each and every answer ๐Ÿ™„

I have played around 100 hours of Smash Ultimate and I'd say at least 85% of that time has been single player and online multiplayer. It's really fun to play with other people multiplayer, but realistically I don't do that as often as I'd like. And when I do, we rarely end up playing Smash :(

I would hope whatever team was behind the new Earthworm Jim would get to keep working on it for real consoles/PC, but probably no...

The article poising this as an analogue competitor seems naive.

If you upload a video to YouTube, it has to have a clickbait title ๐Ÿ˜’

I've been playing The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons on my Analogue Pocket, in short bursts at a time. I'm on the third dungeon so far. It's not as cool as Link's Awakening I think, but it's fun.

Still haven't finished Mario Wonder on Switch and haven't even played Mario RPG for weeks. I need to get back to those, but recently all I've been able to play is those short sessions with the Pocket. Hopefully this weekend, though I've come down with some virus, so I don't know how much gaming I'll be able to do ๐Ÿค’

I'm not a big fan of posting rumors, but we haven't been having many official news recently ๐Ÿ˜…

Clementine. I sometimes use the Navidrome web UI too.

I learned awk when I was studying and I still use it every now and then. It's one of those tools that come in really handy at times. I work in Ruby, but there's still times when scripting or just wanting to process some text when I end up using awk because it makes sense.

I went back to playing Tetris 99 this week now that I'm on Nintendo Online. There's always time for a game of Tetris 99!

I tried the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks and they're pretty good. I played a few cups with with Funky Kong, and it's fun but his voice is a bit annoying and distracting... I'll probably play a few online sessions during the weekend. It'll be a mix between that, Mario Wonder and Tetris 99 on the Switch and Kid Icarus Uprising and Metrod: Samus Returns on the DS.

I can't believe it's almost time for Super Mario RPG, where will I find the time to finish all these games? ๐Ÿ˜… I need a vacation...

It's been a while since I played the unpatched version, so take this as a very informal review. It took a while to start when I first booted it, maybe it was still doing some work in the background. But once the logos started appearing it just went on to the intro and stuff. Some things seem to show up faster, but it's still far from ideal.

There's one part that might be a bit better than before, say when you press "Local" to just fight one fight against the CPU or another player locally. It still takes a good while until you get to the character selection screen though.

Something that's still quite bad is the character render while you're choosing a character. Say you choose Sub-Zero, you wait a few seconds, and Sub-Zero shows up on the screen. When you move your cursor to a different character, Sub-Zero will remain there for quite a few more seconds, until whatever your new character is loaded. So if you're fast (not even trying to be fast, just tapping your d-pad normally), you'll go through lots of characters that will not render at all, since it takes them some time.

The other really bad part is once both characters have been chosen, there's this zoom in where they say something to each other. And this is so awkward, since both models just stay there, staring at each other, while you wait for the fight to load...

awkward

Fights do feel like they might be faster. You still get some proper frame drops and once in this fight the camera stayed still while the action happened kind of out of frame to the right.

I haven't played the new patch that much (maybe this weekend), but I played several fights on the unpatched version locally. It doesn't feel like a massive improvement, or maybe I just don't remember it that well and it's definitely much faster.

It's still a fun game, I just hope they keep fixing and optimising it. And hopefully they fixed these kind of weird glitches... fatality glitch
