We had one when I grew up. Now that I'm living elsewhere with my own family we don't; we have two.

Is Charisma an uploadable skill? If so, I'd love to upload the entire library to displace my Charisn'tma.

Seconding Piano. I'm a reasonably decent guitarist, but there aren't many everyday situations where this comes in handy unless you're a professional musicians.

However, Pianos are casually placed everywhere, intended for public use. Especially in airports for some reason. I would love to woo random people passing by by flawlessly playing Hiromi Uehara or Jordan Rudess.

True-ish. He claimed that it was obsolete upon release because microkernels were the future. However, that turned out yo age like milk. It is, however, important to note that Torvalds and him remained on good terms despite this initial disagreement - It wasn't really that big of a feud to begin with. It was somewhat heated in the moment, but they've remained mutually respecting friends

While there are several advantages to micro kernels, it doesn't mean anything else is inferior.

There were also some other complaints from the same guy regarding specifically building for the I386 architecture, but considering how utterly dominant I386 would turn out to be, I th8nk this aspect of the criticism can be dismissed on its entirety.

I think that depends entirely on the democracy or the dictatorship. What matters more is stability and predictability.

No. I've done many short haul flights like that without problems, including in the US. (For example Houston to Mobile, only to return the same day). Despite perpetually looking like I'm a confused foreigner (mostly because I am a confused foreigner), I've had no noteworthy issues with the TSA.

Only thing I can think of was that one time they did not understand that, yes, you can in fact have a TWIC and a C1/D visa without working for an airline. Cost me maybe 5 minutes extra.

Sometimes the duration of your stay is a short one, and your baggage (or lack thereof) will reflect that.

I guess what would it take for you to look at yourself and conclude that you're rich?

Well, it was a hobby project, so there weren't really any naysayers. Apart from Linus himself.

To quote an adorable snipped from the original release announcement: "just a hobby, won't be big and professional like gnu" as well as "It is NOT protable (uses 386 task switching etc), and it probably never will support anything other than AT-harddisks, as that's all I have :-("

A low-brow solution would be an existing cloud product such as Dropbox et.al, with subdirectories for each course. Alternatively, a self-hosted equivalent.

What does it take in terms of assets, abilities, and/or income for you to consider them wealthy?

I'm currently looking for a replacement to castbox. Castbox us OK, but I want to learn what else good is out there. Bonus points for one that has movement-sensitive sleep timer the way Smart AudioBook Player has.

UPDATE: Testing out Antennapod. Looks nice, and seems to do what I want it to do. I need to experiment with the auto-download a bit and see if it behaves the way I want it to. If it does, we have a winner.

I set up a machine with Debian 12 earlier. The partition schema is fairly standard, except I'm using mdraid for redundancy. I made an image of the two drives, so that I can easily replicate this setup for other machines (I have a bunch of machines that I need to set up in the exact same way.

However, I realized after I finished setting up everything that I chose the wrong pair of disks - instead of the 2.5" SSD pair, I installed it on the NVMe pair which are supposed to be used for something else. And the SSD pair is smaller than the NVMe pair.

Is it possible to resize the images so that they'll fit onto the correct disks, or do I have to start from scratch?

OK, so I finished this a while back, and despite it appealing to a lot of my interests, I honestly found it pretty meh.

I really enjoyed the realistic military/tactical aspect of it all, as that part is right up my alley, but... I did not care about the characters, the plot seemed hollow, and it seems like some things that could have been explored further were simply ignored.

For example, in the beginning these guys blow up a refinery. There are vague descriptions as to why, but after this it is practically not mentioned again. Whatever movement they were part of apparently disappears, and there are no repercussions for their home oblast.

The only thing this book has going for it, in my opinion, is that military nerds like me enjoy the detailed writing about the different types of hardware involved in the book.

So, since I am by no means a literary connoseur, I'm curious about what others think of this one.
