Apparently my other meme with nearly a 1,000 upvotes was reported and removed by mods for a rule violation. But just to clarify, the people in that photo were ACTORS posing for stock photography. No elderly people were actually being force fed while a photographer snapped shots and uploaded them to Adobe. Anyway, enjoy the happy baby! (Disclaimer: This baby may or may not be aware that it is being photographed while eating. This is not my baby, that is not my hand, and I did not take this photo.)

As an Eagle Scout & leader in my Son's Boy Scout troop, an avid hiker, backpacker and general outdoor enthusiast... this is incredibly upsetting. This type of vandalism can't be undone. I hope they find them and throw a rock...I mean the book at them. Or both.

Part of the Scout Outdoor Code is "...to be considerate in the outdoors." which means treat the land and other land users with respect and follow the principles of outdoor ethics for all outdoor activities.

Every 6 months or so I go looking for a solution to this problem and still haven't found one.

When my phone (Pixel 7) is connected to my car by bluetooth, the phone itself will not make any notification sounds. It is attempting to send all notification sounds to the car. The problem is, if I am currently not listening to any media and the head unit is off, I will not hear anything at all. The only possible way to hear it, is to have the head unit on and set to bluetooth input whether or not I'm listening to anything. This was not always the case. I think it changed after Android 13 was released but I'm not 100% sure.

I'll never understand the point of adding "nobody" on memes. It's just completely unnecessary for the joke.

If an advanced civilization developed the technology for interstellar travel, and came all this way to earth, I suspect one of 2 things will happen. Either their tech is so advanced that we won't even detect them, or they show up ready to communicate or destroy us.

I can't see them clumsily flying around, getting seen and whooshing off like some dumb teenagers playing ding-dong-ditch.

“I never intended to commit any fraud. I don’t believe I ever committed any fraud,”

The lie detector test determined... that was a lie.

I agree with the article. Gen Z are more open to sharing their life with the world. I wouldn't say early generations just swallowed the bullshit. They just didn't have a platform to express it to the masses. In the 70s or 80s if you got fired, maybe you reacted the same way, demanding a reason and expressing your frustration. But the only people who witnessed that, were the ones in the room and later on your buddies when you told them the story.

Also, a lot of dumbasses probably went to the store and bought a different product... made by the same company.

They blame Android for that for some reason. Makes no sense.

A good pocket knife or multi-tool like a Letherman or Gerber. I always have a pocket knife on me and a multi-tool in my car. Either one gets used pretty much daily.

Knife: https://www.amazon.com/CIVIVI-Praxis-Flipper-Stonewashed-9Cr18MoV/dp/B08PF6NHLJ (there is a mini version of this if you like/need a smaller knife)

I read a story on Reddit one time that some of you probably remember.

"Today you. Tomorrow me."

I think about that often and try to be a generally helpful and kind person to anyone in need. I guess that's a mantra that I swear by.

I don't see these very often around here. He was just hanging out on the rim of a trash can outside my office.

This place looks like heaven for film nerds. I'd give anything to spend the day here.

I'm kind of a noob at this so I just want to make sure I'm on the right track. Most of my experience is centered around using public trackers and qbitorrent with a VPN on my laptop and Android phone (using flud).

I would like to get started using Jellyfin to serve up media in my house and occasionally remotely with my phone. I have an older HP desktop that was formerly a business PC. I am currently resetting it back to a fresh install (probably Windows 10). I was thinking of putting Jellyfin on there and setting up Tailscale. I have already tested setting this up on a different computer just to learn the setup process and I got it working and was able to remote connect with my phone. I have Cox cable internet and I'm using their provided modem/wifi gateway so I probably don't have many options for customizing that other than port-forwarding. I also don't really need to set up any automation to download media automatically at this time. I basically want to be able to download movies the way I currently do and put them on the Jellyfin machine. What else do I need to know/do? What am I missing? and will I be able to just pull up Jellfin on my phone and cast media to my smart TV's (they do not have Roku btw)?

I guess GIFs aren't supported but starting today, when I send an emoji in Google Messages (beta) it continuously spins around and bounces. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

EDIT: Looks like there is a website that details all the animations. https://googlefonts.github.io/noto-emoji-animation/

That's pretty easy to imagine based solely on statistical data.

My son and I found this at Five Below. It's a plastic pitcher that comes with the mix. Nothing fancy. You just add water, mix it up and pour it in hot oil for about a minute on each side. Came out great! Next we're gonna make our own mix from scratch.
