I'm pretty convinced that King is a huge part of this for them. People are so focused on the console side of things because of console war nonsense.

This got recommended to me the other day. Interesting, but damn was there a lot of filler in this script. I get that he's trying to get across how these spaces feel to him, but like... it's a long stairway dude.
Another one for Storygraph. Really like it. I had considered checking out Bookwyrm but couldn't find an instance of it that spoke to me, and the idea of trying to export and import all of my Storygraph data wasn't appealing.
Most of the supposed benefits of blockchain in gaming would either never actually be realized due to the infeasibility, or would be just as easily implemented using alternative, pre-existing methods.

Ironically, if they had just outlined their eventual plan for what they would do in the event that the service was ever shut down I think more people would have been willing to try it. At least some portion of potential users chose not to use the service because they thought it likely Stadia would eventually get shut down and the money they spent on those games would just be lost. But at the end of the service, the users basically got refunded for everything.
