Gotcha. A youtoober (Bus Grease Monkey) recommended Santan Solar. Last I looked they had used and blemished panels. No experience other than that with them, but the prices seem okay. Although new prices are falling too. Good luck to you!

I use mine daily! It is very useful. I’ve also begun carrying a little pocket flashlight from Olight. It is flatish and clips into my pocket adjacent to the Gerber. I use it all the time too. Back of racks at work and all sorts of opportunities at home too.

Good luck finding the Gerber! Go get it and use it! Say hi to grammy!! ;)

Yes, in light of keeping the new vehicle for its entire "life" the depreciation argument falls fairly flat. It is more meant for the "average" person who keeps a car for three years or thereabouts. I cannot imagine investing that much money flippantly. I take the time to research what I want and mean to keep my auto for a long time. That said, I prefer a solid used car over new because it has depreciated to a more fair value. I've done both and not been displeased with either choice. Except for one BMW...

Weed. Okay maybe the pocket knife is better for a general gift as it is highly practical. I have a Gerber I've used for nigh on 20 years. I miss it when I travel, so I've bought an Opinel and toss it into my checked luggage so I am able to use it on a trip. If I lose it, it was not expensive. Had I lost my Gerber, I would be sad.

Opera was bought by a Chinese company a couple of years ago. So that tracks there too.

only allows text transcripts of videos with no link to them

That was my favorite protest twist. I've only checked back to see that my ~2000 comments remained edited/deleted (they are). Otherwise, I am fine moving away just as I did with Digg. It's a new experience and it's just fine. I do agree that the niche subs are probably what keep drawing folks back there. It'll take time to curate those elsewhere.
