No, it's just that on Lemmy anything that isn't open source or self hosted is basically the devil.

Google Pixels are great phones, but they come loaded with Google Services and this is what this commenter complains about.

I was considering that, seems unlikely to me, though.

It's honorable that you struggle through 2013 Android, but using an internet enabled device that hasn't received security updates in at least 7 years is a horrible idea.

Upgrade to a Fairphone at least, so you can keep replacing parts while also maintaining a base level of security.

Definitely, you can also see that on certain communities, there are very strong opinions which don't allow for discussion.
Say anything that goes against the grain and you will be shunned immediately.

Also - not that that is always a bad thing but Lemmy is extremely left leaning and you just can't discuss certain topics here at all.

(Guns are always bad / Cars should all be banned and traded for bicycles / traveling by plane is bad and you should feel horrible for destroying the environment..)

What I enjoyed about early reddit was the tech/nerd focused community that did not try to push their political opinion into every thread.
Basically the worst part of reddit is already here, just that the echo chambers are smaller for now.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Oh wow I hadn't seen this in ages.
My parents had a reprint hung on a wall in our old house.

This is such an unexpected nostalgia trip.

No, must be malicious intent and them showing off their superiority, because on here (just like on reddit) people are mostly imbeciles that can only see in black and white.

I mean "asking to get his car keyed" what kind of people are commenting here?!
It's a fucking daycare, how long does it really take to get his kid and get out? 5 minutes?

Totally true, I always thought that would be the case but there really are studies that confirm this.
