Ich glaube nicht, dass das ein echtes Problem ist. Es gibt einfach nicht genug Dienstleister damit das zur übergroßen Hürde wird. In Deutschland sind praktisch nur Visa und Mastercard relevant, gerade wenn es um einfache Debitkarten geht. Der Händler braucht also zwei Verträge, einen mit Visa und einen mit Mastercard, alles weitere läuft zwischen dem Kartenanbieter und der ausstellenden Bank.

Noch keine weite Verbreitung. Das Konzept "kostenlose Debitkarte, x€/monat Girocard" sich bei den Banken aber immer mehr durch. Und der Durchschnittskunde in Deutschland ist daran gewöhnt, dass seine "normale" Karte praktisch überall akzeptiert wird (oder jedenfalls überall da, wo Kartenzahlung möglich ist, hat ja lange genug gebraucht bis das üblich war) und beschuldigt daher wohl eher den Laden als die Bank.

Ja, jetzt neue Atomkraftwerke zu bauen wäre natürlich Schwachsinn, und die uralten AKWs ewig weiterlaufen zu lassen geht auch nicht. Ändert aber nix daran, dass wir deutlich besser aufgestellt wären, wenn man in den 80ern nicht komplett damit aufgehört hätte neue AKWs zu bauen. Is it? Because if you thought I meant "it's better to just smoke" then you've misinterpreted me, I meant "neither is a good idea". If that was ambiguous then I apologise.

The judgement on vaping is still out. It's not been around for long enough to know what health effects it'll have in the long-term, but since you're still inhaling things your lungs just aren't made to inhale I expect that it will have a negative impact on health.

I'm not really surprised. They got more and more open about their assassination attempts for years. They're not meant to covertly get rid of enemies, they're very public warnings to other dissidents. It's rule by fear.

Putin absolutely couldn't let Prigozhin walk, nobody could have. It's not just about the semi-autonomous mercenary army, if a government lets someone get away with an attempted coup d'état they'd effectively encourage others to give it their best shot as well because there was no effective punishment. Assassination is, well, a very Russian approach to the issue, but every government on this planet would have taken some form of action.
