That is a really interesting story! I'm sure if he were still alive he'd be very happy to hear some of his works completed.

I see Donald takes after his father.

For sure people think differently. I agree when having a discussion with someone it's important to learn how they think.

I must tell you I used to be on the right, I used to support Trump actually. Part of what made me more sympathetic to immigrants is meeting some and they told me their struggles and I gained empathy for their struggles and how difficult the system is.

You're right. I hope that maybe this could lead to a conversation about why putting people into camps is a bad idea. In my head I imagine starting a conversation with a conservative and they say why the FEMA camps are a bad idea then you could say how do you feel if you were put in one. Now ask how you'd think immigrants would feel when put in a camp. In reality things may not go how I imagine.

I totally get what you mean! They think the cruelty is the point and it will never happen to me or my family/friends so I don't care.

It's so weird that conservative talk radio for many years had conspiracies about how the government will violate everyone's rights and now it's happening and they are blind to it or accepting it because they think the person doing it is on their side. Remember the FEMA camps conspiracy theory? Where are those people now?

Certainly an interesting statistic but one thing to keep in mind is that Elon Musk has control over the algorithm and he uses it to boost right wing causes. So even if the Twitter has an equal number of users from both sides one side is getting an unfair advantage. It's really hard to say because there are so many different listings for laptops. Try calculating a spec to price ratio to determine if it's a good value or not.

I'm still shocked by the number of gay, black, latino and women votes Trump got this election. I wish they would realize that racism, sexism and homophobia are what drives Trump's most loyal and core supporters.

Group think and tribalism is very powerful. I used to be a Trump supporter and I remember thinking about how women were more likely to vote for progressive candidates with the conclusion that perhaps they shouldn't be doing that. I now very deeply regret being part of that and I'm so grateful I broke free of all that nonsense. Monkey see, monkey do is very true. That's why it's important that our leaders demonstrate good behavior and set a good example for everyone.

The concerns are true but if people leave Twitter for Bluesky it's still an improvement because Elon uses the algorithm to boost far-right content and he has your data.

Yes, it's better to move forward a little than to go backwards. When you move forward you can keep moving forward more later. If you move backwards you have to fight for what you lost before you can get more back.
