I had something similar, except there was no hardware. They just tried to charge me for using my own router. It was a nightmare to get that removed from my bill, even with the agents going “yeah I see we didn’t leave anything, and your installer verified with our router and took that, but I also see it was shipped to you directly, so there’s nothing I can do”
Like cool, but nothing was actually shipped to me and even if it was that’s not my problem, it’s yours.

last time I tried to get help I got profiled as a drug seeker.
This is so dumb and lazy, because of course you are seeking a drug, but they have tests they can throw at you that will pretty readily identify if the drug is appropriate for your needs..
Like if they had another actually workable treatment option that wasn’t just “feel really bad about not being able to do things and we’ll teach you how to live with that feeling!” Then fine, we’d all do that and not seek the drugs.. but it’s really not our fault that we need stimulants.
So dumb. Anyway, as others have told you, don’t let that one dumbass deter you. As outlined above, they are clearly dumb.

Because modernity also hates women and I guess I’m ignorant but.. weren’t there options for women then..? Like midwife/doula-type things, herbalist/witch, spinster/seamstress-clothier?

What’s the context here?
Women/female bodies basically stop growing entirely about 2 years after menarche (first period), regardless when that hits. And once menarche hits they only grow another 1-3 inches, typically.
For some girls, myself included, menarche was around 9 years old (the historical normal age of menarche was around 15 years, as far as we can tell, and that age has been going down in modern history) meaning I didn’t really get a chance to grow before my body stopped being able to do so. I have not grown since I was 12. Had I been able to delay puberty by a few years, I may have ended up average instead of 2 standard deviations below average. On the plus side I can wear kids stuff sometimes.
Male puberty doesn’t work that way quite as dramatically, since puberty includes growth spurts through the early-mid 20s, but eventual adult height for men is still based on the height they are when the growth spurts start.
