She got voted out of her political position because she was too conservative for her district, now she’s an official shill.

Do you know how easy geoengineering is to fuck up? And how global and severe the consequences are if we do? Plus, geoengineering is the kind of thing one country, or a billionaire moron on a private island, could do, and kill us all. I’m not saying there’s no place for geoengineering, only that the only reasonable place for it is after pretty much everything else has failed. We really don’t need or want The Year Without A Summer on repeat for decades.

I absolutely would compare caffeine with heroin when making the point that the term “addiction” has become so broad as to be meaningless.

It’d only be stupid if there were any chance they’d actually get in trouble.

As someone with permanent memory damage from a medical procedure, one of the things I find most interesting is how fervently people believe their memories are reliable, despite reams of evidence that human memory has only a passing resemblance to reality. It’s because people believe memory is identity, is who they are. I have the weird privilege (?) of knowing it isn’t. What you do is who you are. Memory itself is only a tool to serve that end.

It’s like trying to use a Rotten Tomatoes score for the human body is so reductive as to be useless, or something.

American law works however the people with money and power decide it does in this 5-minute stretch. It’s meant to be inscrutable.

That’s no reason to make it easy.

Watching porn 24/7 isn’t great for your mental health.

And watching too much porn can mess with body image and normalize sexual violence, because younger people are looking for any clue as to how the world works and have a harder time separating fantasy and reality than adults.

I like porn, but I don’t think it’s healthy for young teens. Just like weed.

It’s more like there’s an active shooter, and we know any violent techniques we use to stop him will immediately be seen by the right as fair game tactics against us in any context, and used against us in perpetuity.
