I think it originally referred to the people supporting the droning of civilians in the middle east in guise of "fighting terrorism". Nowadays it refers to liberals who blindly support everything NATO and their allies are doing.

I've never been as ashamed of being a dev than after I joined the lemmyverse and kept reading this kind of takes from programming.dev.

We need to force devs to have more human contact.

If a “transitionary period” takes more than a decade at what point do we say “they aren’t transitioning” and call it what it is, state owned capitalism.

I mean, how could we know how much time is needed for the transition? It has never happened yet, we're still experimenting.

they seem to have left the square to clear nearby streets

That sounds so strange, how do we expect them to clear entire streets if they can't even get past a single guy armed with grocery bags?

I just tried, you get cool videos about Uyghur culture

You should make an account and talk with them, it's very rewarding!

Eh... as someone living in western Europe, I can't say it's free. I would say that it's subsidized at most. We still have to pay a part of our healthcare, we can get a private health insurance to complete the government coverage, but it's still not enough to cover all of it.

Mental health isn't covered at all, ophtalmology barely (still gotta pay 200€ for a pair of glasses, after public + private coverage), dental only the very basic is covered...
