Your experience is anecdotal. There are countless documented cases of people being not only in control while lucid dreaming, but also remembering what they did. It's just that there is a limit to what you can do in dreams, because they have a purpose and trying to force too much through lucid dreaming ends up damaging your sleep, which your brain will do everything in its power to not let happen.

Don't listen to this cringy kid, he was very obviously trolling on his post after asking a legit question but refusing to properly acknowledge the answers, and now he's angry that he can't troll.

The first is a game design point and no matter how much you dislike it, it very probably participated in the game's success. It gives a better immersion and they did a good job at actually making the rig pleasant to go through and/or waste time in.
